The plaque attached to the launch pad near the middle and on the outside of the azimuth rail. It says:
The State of Michigan established a rocket range on this site which was used from 1964-1971. Michigan's first rocket to enter space launched from this site on January 29, 1971. In tribute to the historic work done in the field of rocketry, this plaque was placed on October, 1998.
The plaque will need to be sealed in the spring so water can not seep in and obstruct the view.. Picture taken by Dale E. Yeo on October 25, 1998.
