Crew for the first shot

Left to right, Earl Gagnon (reporter for the Daily Mining Gazette), Leonard Williams, Mike Brian, and Guy Snyder. They stayed in Bob Richard's Brockway Motel. Guy Snyder spoke of his most vivid memory of Earl Gagnon. Guy and Irv Horton (a TV 6 reporter) were driving home from Copper Harbor after a delayed rocket firing. It was November and the first attempted launch from water. When they got to Phoenix, they noticed that a car had run off the road. They stopped and walked over to look. There was poor Earl Gagnon sitting by his car in the fields. He was seasick from the boat ride on Lake Superior. Next time he got a driver.
